Healthcare Insights: Medical Mission Data Research & Analytics

What can the clinic's own numbers teach us about a community's health?

This summer program is designed for students interested in medicine, public health, global health, data science, and biomedical research. Participants explore de-identified medical-mission data from previous Senegal missions and learn how healthcare data can be used to understand community health needs, identify disease patterns, and improve future outreach.

The curriculum

Two stages, from raw data to real findings.

Stage 1

Knowledge preparation

Data preparation, descriptive statistics, and data visualization — learning to clean, read, and present healthcare data responsibly.

Stage 2

Mission data research

Exploratory analysis, research interpretation, and scientific reporting on de-identified data from past Senegal missions — an introduction to data-driven decision-making in global health.

This program is still being built. Dates, eligibility, and final curriculum have not been set.
