At about 3:00 in the morning, we were awakened by the rough braying of donkeys in the village. In order to fall back to sleep, Sarah suggested that we pray together – the God who could make Balaam’s donkey speak, couldn’t He make the donkeys in the village shut up? Sure enough, after praying, we slept until 6:00 in the morning.<\/p>\n

When we walked into the dining hall in the morning where rays of the hot African sun was shining through, most of the volunteers were already enjoying breakfast.<\/p>\n

After breakfast, everyone started to prepare for the free clinic at the base today.<\/p>\n

The six doctors and their assistants started to get busy. The joy in everyone’s eyes showed their confidence and openness. At the same time, the tent outside the hall was already full of villagers waiting for the clinic to start. They were waiting quietly, full of expectations.<\/p>\n

When the free clinic started, everything went smoothly: from the consultation to the doctor’s advice, to dispensing medicines –\u00a0 everything was in good order.\u00a0 Since the main language of the locals was French, and our doctors speaks English, each consultation desk was provided with an interpreter. These interpreters were the students who graduated from our technical school.<\/p>\n

Children in Africa, especially those in extremely poor areas like Senegal, may be the most vulnerable group in the world. Their childhood is always surrounded by hunger, disease, poverty and death, and their lives are full of endless challenges. There are many children from the villages who came for treatment today. I looked into their big eyes, and my heart was full of pity. Sometimes when I pointed the camera at them, the lowering their heads revealed the sorrow of the world, the unpleasant experiences and helplessness to their childhoods that were visible by their thin bodies due to lack of food and nourishment. But when they raised their heads, I read tenderness in their eyes. How lucky we are compared to them! Shouldn’t we help those who are less fortunate? This is the mission of “Africa Cries Out”. Isn’t it a waste of life if we don’t\u00a0 spread love every day?<\/p>\n
