Our teenage team’s service in Africa is admirable!<\/p>\n

In the early morning, as the faint light just started to appear, various kinds of birds that have disappeared in the big cities of North America were singing melodiously, waking up the children. They quickly got up and prepared breakfast for the team. In North America, if they don’t go to school, these children usually stay up late at night and don’t get up in the morning, and sleeping until ten or eleven is a common thing.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

After preparing a variety of food for breakfast, they also had to distribute the food to everyone.<\/p>\n

\"\"Whenever they had free time, they would sit down and pack the medicines worth over 700,000 dollars that we brought with us into small medicine bags, labeling them with the names and usage of the medicines, so that they could be quickly distributed once the doctor prescribed them. Every day, they had to handle medicines for 300 to 600 patients under the guidance of a pharmacist, and the workload was enormous.<\/p>\n

When the doctors started serving the patients, the children also registered the patients, recording their names, genders, ages, chief complaints, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and heart rate, as well as other relevant information.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

They also followed the doctors on their rounds, learning about the doctors’ attitudes, questioning skills, medical knowledge, and final diagnoses. They were like sponges, absorbing the essence of life and growth, letting this experience provide fuel for their future journeys in life.<\/p>\n

They also had to distribute medication to the patients, and they felt extremely happy when they saw the waiting line outside getting shorter and shorter.<\/p>\n

After finishing with the patients and returning to the base, they felt very tired and sometimes needed to take rest or take a short nap.<\/p>\n

Despite that, they remained energetic and continued packing medicines after their nap, preparing for the next day’s work.<\/p>\n

This year, our journey is called ‘Impact 2023’, but for these children, the trip to Senegal, Africa, is not just about impacting their 2023. When they serve the poor Africans in person, witness the level of poverty, and experience the shortage of food and water, their lives will undergo a huge transformation. They will gain more rich life experiences, and their life paths will connect with the never-drying source of spirit. They will give love together with their families, growing in the love of the ‘Africa Cries Out’ family. Their lives will shine with a unique brilliance.<\/p>\n
