Founder & President of Africa Cries Out · Board President

Dr. Jun Xu is the founder and overall ministry leader of Africa Cries Out. He provides ACO’s vision, ministry leadership, and strategic direction, guiding the organization’s work alongside ACO leaders, volunteers, supporters, and local partners in Africa.

Dr. Xu is a physician at Stamford Hospital and is affiliated with Columbia University. His professional medical background, Christian faith, and long-term commitment to global outreach continue to shape ACO’s work in healthcare, education, community care, and mission service.

Xinwen brings long-term church service, community commitment, and financial stewardship support to ACO. After years of church service in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania, he returned to Boston in 2023 and continues to serve actively in his local church community.

Xiaohong is a mathematics educator with a professional background in IT, where her work included product planning, requirements analysis, system coordination, and technology implementation. She brings experience in education, technology, project development, and nonprofit service to ACO. She has been actively involved in ACO’s mission outreach, website and digital development, media communications, and organizational support, with a particular focus on strengthening ACO’s public presence, sharing its mission and impact, and supporting Gospel outreach through effective communication and storytelling.

Li-Hsien is a retired pharmaceutical-industry researcher who remains actively engaged in charitable work and Christian service. His long-term Christian journey has included church life and service in Taiwan, Texas, Connecticut, and New York.

Christopher Leo, MD, PhD, FACP

Christopher Leo, MD, PhD, FACP

Dr. Leo is a physician specializing in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics in North Carolina. He completed his internal medicine residency in New York and his geriatric fellowship at Duke University Hospital, and now serves as a physician and Assistant Professor at Duke University, where his work is dedicated to care of the elderly and to community healthcare.

He served on the board of the Alliance of North American Chinese Physicians from 2022 to 2023 and as its President from 2024 to 2025, and has chaired the board of the Carolinas Chinese Healthcare Provider Association since 2026. He is one of the key coordinators of ACO’s annual mission trips, and in 2025 was appointed by the ACO Board of Directors to establish its Executive Committee.

Dr. Huang holds a Ph.D. in Telecommunications from New York University and has held senior leadership roles in major telecommunications companies. He is the founder and CEO of Bethel Renewal Center, a pastor, and an experienced cross-cultural missions and leadership-development practitioner with Business as Mission experience.

Xuezhi Daniel Jiang, MD, PhD

Dr. Jiang is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Drexel University College of Medicine. He has participated in medical missions in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Nigeria, and Senegal, and brings experience in patient care, medical education, clinical research, and whole-person care.

Mr. Marques has served in Africa since 1970. After moving to Senegal in 1987, he established MEADBS as a mission base for missionary training and helped develop a technical school and health clinic to meet community needs.

Nilson dos Santos Teixeira

Pastor Nilson leads the Assembly of God World Vision Ministry, which grew from decades of church leadership and missionary work. He supports church planting, missionary outreach, and community service across North America, South America, Central America, and West Africa.

Christopher Leo, MD, PhD, FACP

Appointed by the Board of Directors in 2025 to establish ACO’s Executive Committee, Dr. Leo serves as Executive Team Chairman, supporting organizational coordination and the implementation of ACO’s ministry priorities. He works alongside Dr. Xu, Board members, volunteers, medical professionals, and local partners to advance ACO’s annual outreach and long-term ministry work.
