Data to Impact

Twenty-four Sundays in which a student runs a real project end to end — surveys real customers, prices real goods, sells them to real strangers, and reports on what the numbers came to. Everything they raise goes to the shared Pack with Love goal — backpacks for children in Senegal.

The course is described in full at packwithlove.org — the syllabus, the mentors, and the calendar. This page is where a place is booked.

Enrollment is closed for this run. Every seat is taken. Write to youth@africacriesout.org and we will tell you when the next one opens.

This buys 24 sessions of teaching, so it is a fee and not a donation — it is not tax-deductible. Please read the refund and absence terms below before you pay.

Before You Pay

Refunds, absences, and the tax question.

Written out in full, because a course that cannot answer these before taking the money has not earned it.

  • Before September 13Full refund of the whole $720. No reason needed.
  • Through Phase 1
first three sessions, to about September 27
$720 less $30 for each session attended. Phase 1 is your trial window — three sessions is a real look, not a taster.
  • After Phase 1No refund. The class sizes its team claim, its survey and its roles on the final roster, and a seat in a cohort of fifteen cannot be refilled mid-project.
  • Medical or relocationDocumented circumstances receive prorated credit toward a future program — it keeps a small project solvent, and keeps your student’s place with us rather than closing the door.
  • If we cancelA cancelled session gets a makeup or the season extends. If we ever cancel the course itself, all remaining sessions are refunded in full.
  • Missed sessionsNot refunded, but nobody catches up alone: every absence comes with a pack — what the session covered, what the team decided, what is waiting to be picked up. A student who misses a week should stay inside the project, not behind it. After three we ask for a conversation about the role they carry: an adjustment, never a penalty.
  • Is it tax-deductible?No. It buys 24 sessions of teaching, and a payment made in exchange for something of equal value is not a charitable gift. What the students raise selling is a different matter — that goes to the shared Pack with Love goal and is not returned to families. The fee buys the teaching; the sales fund the backpacks.
